Write the offer, date, and phone number as real text

When a past customer asks her inbox about your offer, the assistant works from the words in your email, so put the details in the text.

Gmail has an AI assistant built in on eligible plans. Google's Gmail Help says Gemini in Gmail can summarize long email threads and find specific details in your emails. Google also lists Gmail Live, which lets people talk to Gmail with their voice and get answers to questions about their emails.

So picture a past customer in November. She asks her inbox when your fall offer ends, or what your phone number is. The assistant works from what your email says. Make sure your email says it in plain words.

Put these in the text

  • Business name: the way customers say it.
  • The offer: one line that says what it is.
  • The end date: written out as a real date.
  • Phone number: typed out, not inside a picture.

Images are fine. Give each one alt text that says what it shows. Google recommends alt text in case an image does not load, and says it helps people who use screen readers. A single big flyer image says nothing to a reader with images turned off.

I write every email in the owner's voice, and the owner approves it before it goes out. The details sit in the text every time. More on how that works in the owner emails guide.
